the easy way
Between the philosophical current of ancient Greece known as stoicism and the other philosophical current of the same Greece known by the name of hedonism, there is a choice between cost and benefit, between effort and immediacy.
We know that the human being lives two kinds of existential agonies, the best known for the celebrities who left us too soon, like Michael Jackson, or Winehouse, all dead from excess and exhaustion of needs more than supplied and met where Mashlow's pyramid was successfully completed and the completeness of basic needs satiated, then the superfluous that can never be fully satisfied with each new desire fulfilled, a new desire for desire appears, this anxiety of never seeing all desires satiated in their maximum intensity and speed, the immediacy generates the fear of never being able to perpetually guarantee the entire flow of resources in an infinite way, so the time to enjoy everything that is available, and the instantaneousness of pleasure, everything makes us dependent on more satisfaction, so the desire for desire generates depression and the feeling of emptiness.
On the other hand, the absence or lack of resources to satisfy the most basic needs, and the desire to possess what the wealthy are enjoying can lead to the exhaustive search for satisfaction or the frustration of desires that cannot be attended to, leading to the discouragement and apathy, then, desertion and the lack of conditions for the minimum satisfaction of desires are the worst advisers, which at the limit can lead to desperate and unrealistic measures.
The lack of viable alternatives for achieving the fulfillment of basic desires is a temptation to look for easy shortcuts and suggestions of opportunists who manipulate minds and desires to deviate from the only paths that gave results, except for materially insurmountable conditions that violate the limitations of time, space and materials.
People in need and without time and material resources easily begin to believe in magical solutions and the danger then of being seduced by hope handlers transforms expectations into desperate measures and which, even ending in tragedy, end up becoming the last alternatives of the desperate .
The repertoire of despair includes the religion of fanatics who promise an invisible and unknown paradise, or the magical formulas of material equality that have led entire nations to shorten the only path to success and prosperity that is work and the production of goods. tangible and intangible within a system of norms consensually agreed upon in a politically organized society, outside these parameters there is no magic facility, no shortcut that others have not yet taken, and no hidden secrets to the path of a comfortable life without the sacrifices and renunciations to postpone the pleasure that must follow effort and abstinence in order to accumulate strength and resources.
